What's new in version 4.0? Posted August 31, 2010:
- Adds support for 64-bit on Mac OS X.
- Adds significant speed improvements over version 3 for Linux 64-bit, Mac OS 32-bit and Windows 32- and 64-bit. We've tested and have seen RSMB Vectors v4 run twice as fast as version 3, and RSMB v4 run 1.5 times faster than version 3. Your calculations times may vary based on the amount of memory you have, number of CPUs, type of processor(s), etc. Note that these timing tests took only calculation time of the plugins into account, and not disk I/O.
- Linux 32-bit does not have speed improvements and is essentially the same as version 3.
- Version 3 and Verison 4 can exist at the same time on a particular machine. Version 4 shows up as "RSMB" and "RSMB Vectors" and version 3 shows up as "RSMB3" and "RMSB3 Vectors".
- To convert a Nuke script to use version 4 without having to replace each node interactively, open your nuke project file in a text editor and globally replace "rsmb3_v3" with "rsmb_v3" and replace "rmsb3_vectors_v3" with "rsmb_vectors_v3".
- Multi-host application floating licenses available: with multi-host licensing users can float a single license across many applications, including: Nuke, Flame, Fusion, After Effects (Twixtor PRO only), Shake, Softimage, Smoke, Flint, Flare, Inferno, Combustion, Premiere Pro (Twixtor PRO only), and Maya and Max Composite.
